my arms hurt D:
I've been allowed to come and help along the exec chef's Charity Dinner held at a Vineyard yesterday. As we were driving towards the function room, i saw tons and tons of grapevines with bright blue grapes
So far, i did the assisting things, thickened the sauces, fixed the Hors d'oeuvers everytime a server needs to replemish their platters. I did wonder why all of the servers, both male and female are 10in-1 feet taller than me D: are sevice people supposed to be that
I had met a spanish-speaking crewmember of the vineyard and frankly...he couldn't understand me, I barely understood him >< it was hard. And I met Mayumi among the service crew and she speaks japanese!! It did seems that she was having a hard time speaking in english. We chatted a bit ^^ (thank heavens for Nihongo Lesson 1) and it did confirm my suspicions. I just told her to take care of herself and good luck. If she didn't like this job due to the language complications, it would be better for her to look for a better one. Hopefully she does.
Then the horde of people came X_x I was one of the runners running the food needed to be replemished ASAP, frankly the steaks and potatoes are the heaviest of all to carry around. What a relief that I did not drop nor break anything.
Plus the evening was cooold *brrr* after getting grab bags and finally eating whats left of the dishes as dinner and cleaning up, i changed my work jacket into a sweater jacket ...hmm so warm <3
All in all its quite an experience, even if I felt I barely did anything except for running. Snoozed off minutes after I arrived home, thanks for the transpo provided by one of my co-workers.
